Brysons Blog Entry#2 Building a computer is hard, but fun!

When i first got into building computers i never realized how hard it actually is, but at the same time its very straight forward! Let me start this off by saying I'm no expert when it come to computers. I know more than the average person but not everything. Around the age of 16 i got my first job at this pizza restaurant by my house call Grimaldi's Pizzeria. This is the place i earned my first check from any job ever i was ecstatic! The first thing on my mind when i got that check was "I want to build a computer".

Before buying parts for this computer i was inevitably gonna build i did my research. I looked up the approximate price for the machine. I looked into pre-built computers, and i looked into videos that gave pros and cons to building your own. The average price you are looking at when it comes to building a good computer is around $800- $1200 for a beginner computer. This price varies on part brands and what you are building the computer. I was building mine for video games so my pricing was around $1200. Having done my research i found out the best parts to put in the machine and ordered them all from amazon and various different sources.

Now came the fun part! Building the computer. Building this monster was a hassle to say the least there are so many wires and small parts. These small parts make it nearly impossible to plug everything in. I started with the motherboard first this is the base of your computer what everything is plugged into. I plugged in all the wires and moved onto the next part, the RAM. This is what controls the speed at which your computer processes data. It's very important to put RAM in the right slots otherwise you could mess up the data processing in the computer. I then moved on to the CPU, basically the brain of the computer it tells your computer to do everything. THIS is the most important piece next to the GPU. If one pin is damaged the entire CPU will not run or function at all. The installation of this piece was a slow and methodical one as i did not want to damage it. Next came the GPU this is what makes everything show up on your screen the second most important piece. Unfortunately for me when i was installing my GPU I bent one of the pins making it unusable causing me to have to buy a new one. Next up was all the fans and to organize the wires this took about an hours only because i wanted to make the wires look as neat as possible. I closed up the computer booted it up and them came the final step. To install windows. This was very straight forward as all i had to do was follow the prompts on screen.

All i had to do now was download all my games and enjoy what i had created! From this whole experience i learned that building a computer is like playing with legos all you have to do is follow the instructions! Its very hard but very rewarding and fun to do because then you learn a new skill.
